I'm the founder and sole proprietor of Code Dietitian, a virtual and office-based nutrition private practice that specializes in wellness and weight management. I take a holistic and realistic approach to nutrition and lifestyle counseling/coaching because a healthy lifestyle, not just diet, is important for both weight loss and maintaining weight loss in the long term.

Before becoming a Registered Dietitian, I struggled with my weight- I was even a candidate for gastric bypass surgery. With a lot of self-study on nutrition topics and hard work, I made lasting lifestyle changes. I have maintained a 70lb weight loss for the past 12 years and counting.

My own experiences with making lasting healthy lifestyle changes and weight loss/maintaining weight loss are the reasons why I decided to become a Registered Dietitian. I'm here to serve as a judgement-free life-changing resource for my clients on their journeys to wellness.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't live in Illinois, but wish to utilize your online weight loss counseling services. Will I be able to?

This depends on which state you live in. Code Dietitian can see residents of the following areas of the United States, in addition to Illinois:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Indiana
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • New York

Do you accept health insurance?

Code Dietitian does not accept health insurance as payment at this time.

Do you accept FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) cards?

Yes. It will be necessary for your primary care provider (MD, DO, APRN, NP, or PA) to provide you with a letter of necessity for nutrition counseling before you can use an FSA or HSA card to pay for Code Dietitian's services. FSA and HSA cards cannot be used to pay for service packages, only sessions at the time of service.

Will I see results after just one session?

Not likely because sustained weight loss takes time. Code Dietitian offers discounted weight loss packages to help you succeed in your effort to make lasting lifestyle changes.

I have chronic kidney disease and/or diabetes. Will you be able to take me on as a client?

Code Dietitian can work with clients who have diabetes. Depending on the severity of CKD and/or diabetes, Code Dietitian may choose to refer clients to other health care providers that specialize in these conditions.

Do you guarantee results?

Because there are so many variables that can affect a person's weight loss results, Code Dietitian does not guarantee results of any kind.

My doctor has prescribed me Phentermine or Qsymia. Why should I utilize your services?

While these appetite suppressents can be helpful to someone's weight loss efforts, they are not meant to be taken forever (these medications often come with sometimes unbearable side effects). When off these medications it is important to have developed good eating habits, physical activity habits, and other lifestyle habits in order to prevent regaining weight.

What happens if Code Dietitian must reschedule appointments?

In the rare event that Code Dietitian must cancel and reschedule an appointment, client will be contacted by email or phone and asked to reschedule the affected appointment or appointments via IntakeQ.

Do you issue refunds?

Refunds are only issued at the discretion of Code Dietitian.
